My Role as
Drama Club Director
Having the opportunity to work as the drama club director at Millbrook was an absolute dream come true. As a true thespian at heart, theatre is another one of my passions. As Drama Club director, I was responsible for the direction of fall musicals, the direction and production of spring plays, holding monthly club meetings, and submitting a team into the Virginia High School League theatre competition.

Millbrook does not offer an acting class that student may take as a part of their class schedule, meaning that any acting or theatre lessons have to happen in an after-school capacity. One of the main focuses of our monthly drama club meetings are on acting, improvisation, character development, and stage combat.

Millbrook High School French Club
August 2018 - Present

I started the French Club at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year as a way to expand on cultural elements of Francophone culture, namely providing the students with the opportunity to try authentic French foods, watch French films, and expand on content covered in class. One of the French Club's biggest events each year is a Mardi Gras party that includes a student King Cake contest.

As the faculty sponsor of French Club, my role is to provide the students with spaces for meetings in the school, to supervise those meetings, and, on occasion, to provide supplies and materials for the meetings. While I still play a role in organizing and learning French club meetings, I have also set the club up to provide students with the opportunity to gain leadership through club officer positions. The four officers help decide the content and schedule of meetings.
Student Travel
I had planned to provide travel opportunities to students outside of school through a partnership with EF Tours. Unfortunately the COVID-19 Pandemic has halted those plans for the foreseeable future for me.
Other Leadership Experiences
January - March 2017
Park Forest Middle School
During my student teaching experience, I worked with the drama club at the other middle school in State College. In this role, I worked with students on developing and creating lighting plots and a lighting design for "Beauty and the Beast."
September 2014 - November 2016
Central Cambria High School
Central Cambria High School hired me for three years to work as their lighting designer. Though this position was limited in my student interactions, I was still working in a capacity of drama club faculty. As such, I would enlist students to assist me in some aspects of the lighting design process.
September 2013 - September 2015
Altoona Area Junior High School
At AAJHS, I was hired to work as the technical director for three years (though I had voluntarily been doing this position since 2011). My job included working with students to teach them about the different technical theatre departments and specifically on the artistic process of lighting and sound design.

Frederick County Education Association
For the 2020-2021 School Year, I accepted a position as co-building representative for Millbrook High School at the Frederick County Education Association.

I believe firmly in education and ensuring that teachers' voices are heard in regards to education and school-related issues.
